Savings Account Agreement

If you use your Visa debit card to purchase goods or services from a merchant who debits your account electronically through an electronic terminal located at the retailer`s location, you should normally use your PIN. These transactions are referred to as «PIN,» «PIN» or «online» by debit card. On the other hand, if you use your Visa debit card to purchase goods or services from a merchant who will display the Visa logo, the transaction will be processed very similarly to a conventional credit card transaction. The use of your PIN is not normally necessary. For this reason, these transactions are called «no PIN,» «non-PIN,» «signature-based debit card transactions,» or «offline.» However, your Visa debit card is not a credit card. Unlike a credit card transaction, your current account is directly debited when you use your debit visa card. If we pour an NSF item into overdrafts, we do so as part of the basic overdraft service we offer to our customers. If you do NOT want us to pay for NSF items, you should contact us by phone at FC DIRECT`s phone number in the «Bank Contacts» section at the end of this agreement. If you warn us not to pay for NSF items, we will refuse, refuse and/or return all NSF items. However, we charge your account an NSF tax for rejected and returned items, as indicated in our product and fee disclosure. Depending on the type of account you have and/or how you decide to obtain your bank statements, we will provide you with your bank statements and photos of your cancelled cheques and other items by email or other means.

When used, the term «statement» contains the statement and all the elements contained in the statement. We may also communicate to you from time to time on your account or activity on your account by email or other means («Communications»). Please read this brochure and keep it in your other bank documents. This brochure and your other account documents, as well as any changes we can make to them in the future, will serve as a contract with you on your deposit accounts.
